Our winter mountaineering course focuses on mountain ascents by graded, (I and II) ground while moving as a roped group. The course will operate in the mountains around Fort William and Glencoe with ascents of mountains like Ben Nevis and Stob Coire nan Lochain. If conditions permit we can also run this course in Snowdonia. The techniques you use during the course will allow you to move safely over technical terrain and are transferable to other mountains for future goals. This course is also useful for anyone aiming to get a winter mountain leader (WML) qualification.
To get the most from the course you should be physically fit and have an experience of winter mountain walking. It is open to anyone aged 16yrs and over.
Instructors are hired on a daily basis allowing you to choose the length of course you require. The minimum course duration consists of 1 day and costs £200 at a ratio of 1 instructor to 2 clients.
