This course is aimed at people who wish to learn or improve their navigation skills while in the mountains. We put the emphasis on the mountains so don't expect to be sitting in a classroom listening to lectures. The course will be tailored to individuals requirements and will include map signs and symbols, map orientation, contour lines, the compass, relocation, taking bearings and journeying among many other techniques. A qualified instructor will supply maps and compasses, group members need to bring walking boots, suitable clothing for being in the mountains and a packed lunch.
