30 December 2011

For the next few months we will mainly be running our winter activities. We will be based in Fort William which gives easy access to snow and ice climbing on Ben Nevis and around Glencoe. There are still places available on our winter courses if anyone is looking for a chilly challenge. During the winter months our North Wales activities will be running as usual.

Happy New year to one and all.

23 May 2011

With the academic year entering it's later stages lots of schools and colleges have been out and about. We've been fortunate enough to enjoy some mini mountain expeditions and a variety of activities with college staff and students.

So many people getting married, we've also been kept busy with stag and hen parties over the past few weeks. Mankini's makers must be busy.

25 March 2011

As Winter draws to a close and Spring takes hold activities have switched from the challenges of Scottish winter climbing to rock climbing and coasteering in North Wales. In the past week we've been coasteering on the Llyn, scrambling around the Snowdon Horseshoe and rock climbing all in perfect warm sunshine. Bookings are coming in at a slow but steady pace for the coming months, anyone interested in some activities should contact us sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

24 January 2011

As it's the first update of the new year I suppose its a belated happy new year to everyone. Since the last post the winter conditions have unfortunately disappeared from North Wales. The winter weather is making the mountains of Scotland the place top be for anyone looking for some winter climbing or mountaineering. Since early January I've been happily trudging around various climbing venues in Torridon, Glencoe, Lochaber and Cairngorms. Personalised winter experiences are available to anyone interested in strapping on a pair of crampons. For full details please get in touch.

Winter is here, fingers crossed for more sub zero weather because winter climbing is ace. North Wales was fortunate enough to benefit from the recent freezing conditions while missing out on the heavy snowfalls. The hills and mountains have been really busy with budding explorers looking for new winter climbing lines and repeating the already classic routes. We are able to offer winter experiences in North Wales and Scotland, if you are interested please get in touch for further details.

The past weekend was spent on the Marquess of Anglesey's Column supporting a charity event for a local Childrens Hospice. In total 57 participants bravely abseiled down the 27metre tower using a rope tied around the Marquess's legs.Well done to everyone involved, I'm sure lots of money was raised for a good cause.

This week we'll be out and about with a couple of colleges, hopefully the weather will stay sunny and dry.

29 September 2010

It's been a long time since the last update. In that time Summer has turned to Autumn and the frantic pace has eased off. Schools and colleges have started the new academic year meaning we've been running activities for students at venues across North Wales and the Brecon Beacons. We'll be kept busy with college activities until the middle of November before the Christmas slow down. From January we will be available to run winter mountaineering activities. If you are interested in some Scottish winter action please get in touch.

15 August 2010

Wow wee, what a busy few weeks it's been. The summer holidays have certainly kept us on our toes. Highlights of the past few weeks include coasteering with dolphins playing in the background and on more than one occasion a sea otter swimming close by. We've also enjoyed entertaining the Pwllheli youth club, (CIP) and supporting the Aberdaron Celebration of the Sea Festival.

19 July 2010

The summer hoildays have arrived and things have got quite a bit busier. Activities have been happening all over Snowdonia and the Llyn. Dinghy week in Abersoch is about to start. If any competitors or their families are interested in an activity please see the SPECIAL DEALS page. A quick reminder, please give us as much notice as possible when booking activity sessions.

1 July 2010

Last week was spent in the sunshine working on a Mountain Leader training course. The ideal excuse to get into the hills, (if one was needed). This week has been a bit quieter than of late and it has also rained for the first time in ages, perfect timing! The school summer holidays are looming which, fingers crossed will bring the sun back. Wakestock is about to happen, music mud and madness. The World Cup continues with the best teams still fighting it out and a Scot is making great progress in the tennis. If anyone is interested in rock climbing then do some research on a route called the Indian Face, exciting times!

15 June 2010

Since the last posting we've been kept busy with colleges and schools during the week then stag parties through the weekends. Plenty of variety, not only in the clients but also in the activities, coasteering, canoeing, climbing, kayaking, gorge scrambling and mountain walking. Hopefully the good weather will continue as we approach mid summer. Someone mentioned something about  a football competition happening........

27 May 2010

The past week has kept us busy with some mountain walking and wild camping as well as some rock climbing and gorge/canyoning antics, all good fun. The bank holiday is fast approaching when we'll be surf kayaking, coasteering and canyoning, if you fancy a spot of adventure please give us a call.

16 May 2010

Whats been happening in the big bad world then? We're under the power of a new government, volcanic ash is crippling the air travel industry, BP are spilling millions of gallons of oil into the sea and Radio 1 are going to somewhere in North Wales they keep calling Bang-or.

Our activities have been running at full steam with more college students getting a taste of North Wales and plenty of stag and hen groups celebrating with a splash. We still have spaces available for the late May bank holiday but don't hang around. First come, first served remember.

1 May 2010

The bank holiday has arrived and with it some slightly less settled weather. Radio 1's Big Weekend is creating a quiet buzz around the place, I'm sure it will get louder as the event arrives in a couple of weeks.

The past week has been spent with some college students doing a variety of activities including rock climbing and gorge waking. Over the next few days we'll be out coasteering and climbing. We still have availability for activities over the bank holiday, if anyone is looking for an adventure give us a shout.

14 April 2010

We've had a steady flow of sessions since Easter including the first Coasteering outing. The sea is still pretty chilly but the sun shine and air temprature makes things feel slightly warmer, not to mention the neoprene gloves, socks and a second wetsuit. The sea cliffs on Anglesey have given us a good couple of outings, rock climbing is so much steeper than the winter stuff!

We are preparing for a busy spell through May entertaining college students and a few stag parties, the bank holidays will also be pretty hectic if the sun continues to shine. Our new leaflets will be out on the streets from next week and the van should be getting a mini face lift, keep your eyes peeled.

5 April 2010

Happy Easter. As the winter continues in Scotland, North Wales has been enjoying a sunny Easter weekend. Last week we where in the Scottish highlands in waist deep snow wading our way to the welcomed sight of the Stoneaig bothy, well done to all involved in the tough conditions. In comparison our days on Aonach Mor and indoor ice climbing were a breeze. Back in sunny North Wales we have been climbing at Tremadog and Gorge Scrambling near Betws y Coed. The coming week will see Bushcraft, Canoeing and Rock Climbing all happening, bring on the summer.
